Adding and managing categories

Create and organise categories to structure your records.

Categories are used to organise your records and make them easier to filter and manage. Each record can be assigned to a category.

Categories help organise your records clearly. This becomes especially useful when viewing records in lists, filtering information, and preparing exports.

Open categories

Go to the categories section from your dashboard.

Add a new category

Select add category and enter a name.

Set sort order (optional)

Use sort order to control how categories are displayed in lists.

Edit or delete categories

Existing categories can be edited or deleted from the list page.

Category name

The name used to identify and group records.

Sort order

Controls the order categories appear. Lower numbers appear first.

Notes

Optional notes can be used to explain the purpose of a category or how you intend to use it.

Do I have to use categories?

No, but they help organise records and improve filtering.

Can I change a category later?

Yes, categories can be edited at any time.

What happens if I delete a category?

Records linked to it will no longer have that category assigned.

Can I reorder categories?

Yes, using the sort order field.
